$2.9 billion in developer funds could pay for new light rail line, report expected to show



Private-sector development along a light rail route from Westmead to Strathfield could be used to cover the cost of the project, a coalition of the area's big businesses and landowners says.

The WestLine Partnership will release a report on Monday expected to show up to $2.9 billion could be raised through voluntary developer levies in the "Olympic corridor" - a light rail route that would begin at Westmead to connect Parramatta with Rosehill, Camellia, Olympic Park, Rhodes and Strathfield.
